“Father, we come into your Precious presence, hungry for more of You. We want to hear Your Whisper, We want to be that close. What would you have me share with Your Inter-net Church?”
“The Lord would encourage you today with these Words. I want to encourage you to trust Me for the big issues in your life, and trust me for the small issues in Your life. I am equally concerned with the little concerns as well. I am concerned when you purchase things, that you get the best price. I am interested in Christian Students, excelling in their grades. When you buy a car, let Me lead you to the one, that will be best suited for your family, When you have a cold, let Me heal you, I am even concerned about your pets Proverbs 12:10 says, “A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast. In all your ways, when you acknowledge Me, I direct your steps. Though you plan your ways,I direct your steps and make them sure. Psalms 37:23 The steps of a righteous man are ordered by God. and He delighteth in his way Psalms 34:15The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. Psalms 34:17The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. Psalms 37:4 – 5 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring [it] to pass. All of these Scriptures should show you that I am concerned with the little things also. Trust me in every thing you do, and every where you go, and you will succeed.”
Well, I love my pets, and have had pets most of my life, so today, I am going to share pet Miracles. WEE BIT When I was a teenager, we had a Chocolate Chihuahua, named Wee Bit. She was smart, did tricks, was very loyal, and very beautiful, we were very attached to her , to say the least. We lived in Houston, in a duplex apartment, that had a big window fan in the window. Wee Bit had used the opening in the fan, all through winter, to watch us come and go. We never thought anything about it. Summer came, and we started using the fan. As we left one day, I looked back and saw her foot under the fan. I said, “Mother, Wee Bit has her foot caught under the fan.” We hurried back inside, and found her in a pool of blood, with a deep gash in her head and side, and she was unconscious. This was back in our days before we discovered that God didn’t want us to be poor. We had no money, but mother took her to the Vet anyway. The vet gave us little hope for her life, and told us that if she lived , she would be like a vegetable, unable to walk, would not know us, and painted a sad story. Mother wouldn’t let him put her down, and told him, we were going to trust God for her healing. (He rolled his eyes.) She was in the vet hospital for two weeks.
The day we went to get her, the vet again said, she will never walk straight, or know you. When he brought her in the office to mother, She was very weak. Slowly she wagged her tail when she saw mother. We were all crying as she walked in a large curve trying to get to Mother.
It cost $52 the vet waved the charge.
The next day, Mother got a flu shot, not knowing that she was allergic to the medicine. It gave her a horrible case of influenza and she was in bed with high fever for two weeks. During that time, she kept Wee Bit in her bed, and prayed for her real often. She even anointed her with oil, and quoted scripture over the puppy. By the end of that two weeks, her scars were gone, her cuts were totally well, she walked straight, and knew everyone. The only symptom that she had from the accident, was, she walked like a Clydesdale horse. She threw her feet and pranced. This little Chocolate colored puppy, with perfect white boots, a white tip on her tail, a white diamond on her head, got attention, everywhere we went. This was back in the Ed Sullivan days, and Wee Bit learned how to say, or growl, “I love you momma,” and “Hamburger.” She did all kind of tricks, and stole every heart she came in contact with. God Restored her totally. That was a long time ago, but this is now, does God still heal dogs?
RUFFLES, EVEN A GUINEA PIG-When the kids were little, We had a ruffled, long haired, Abyssinian Guinea Pig with a big personality. She was tame, almost carried on a conversation with you, spoiled, hand fed our kitchen scraps, carrots, greens, peas, etc. You would think that with me being a country girl, I would know that anything poison to humans would also be poison to a Guinea Pig.
Someone gave us some poke Salad Greens and told me to be sure and boil it and drain it three times, to get the poison out before we ate it. I did as told, and they tasted great to us. The Guinea Pig enjoyed them raw. By bed time, when I went in to say good night and cover her up, she was laying on her side, kicking, dying. We made a midnight ride to the Vet and woke him up. He met us and basically wanted to put her down (I know he was thinking, what kind of idiot would feed a Guinea Pig or even a rat, raw Poke Salad).
The kids begged. so I didn’t have the heart to put her to sleep. The vet said just keep her comfortable til she died. Give her a teaspoon of milk of Magnesia every two hours.
When we got home, our little girl said, “Mommy, we forgot to pray for Ruffles.” (Out of the mouth of a child.) We all held hands, I laid my hands on her and prayed the 91st Psalm. She could eat any deadly thing and it would not harm her. She would live and not die, to entertain us with her little “Weet, Weet, Weet, happy talk.”
We argued each two hours about who would go give her Medicine. “Little Faith,” said to us, “She is Dead.” I ended up, sitting up, praying over her. In about an hour, she began to get a little more alert and she did not die. The next morning, she woke up the family, with her, “Weet, Weet, Weet, Where’s my morning carrot?” It was a Saturday, about 7 am when she made her wake up call. If it was a school morning, I would have a hard time, getting them up and rolling. When she sang her little wake up song, Everyone ran to greet her. She was fine.
Bryan was two years old, and I must say, into everything. Two weeks later, he fed Ruffles, a strait pin, and she ate it. I opened her mouth and couldn’t see it. So at 7pm at night, we went to visit, our friendly Vet who was becoming not so friendly. We called him out of a Golf game.
He walked in the waiting room, muttering under his breath, why can’t they get a dog like ordinary people. He did an xray and told us he saw no pin. So we went home. Ruffles would not eat for several days, and after about a week , she developed a horrible stinky, abscess, through her jaw, and you guessed it. Our vet left his golf game.
The pin was lodged cross ways, so it had not shown in the xray. The vet said, She will die this time, she has too much infection in her body to survive.
Our daughter, said, “Oh Mom, we did it again, We forgot to pray for her, so the Vet bowed his head, respectfully, while Monica prayed for Ruffles. The vet gave her a shot and sent us home for her to die. God healed her again. I called the vet during office hours, to let him know she had survived and was fine. He replied, “Charlotte, you really should get a dog.” God cares about Guinea Pigs.
GOOSE My son raises high dollar hunting bird dogs. He splurged and bought a male that was from Champion blood lines, and we won’t even talk about what he paid for Goose. He was a gorgeous puppy. He seemed to start learning as quickly as his feet hit the ground at his new home. He was great with retrieving, minded My son well, and His new owner, was proud of this dog. He had the potential to be a major champ, and to sire champion puppy litters as well.
About a month after Bryan purchased him, he started getting hard knots on his jaw bone. My son worked as a Veterinarian Tech for about six years, and he recognized the symptoms of an incurable disease, that would only get worse, until it caused the dog to not be able to eat, and would die. He took him to the vet and the vet confirmed his suspicions.
Bryan called me that evening and asked me if I would pray for Goose. I did, I cursed the disease and claimed long healthy life for him, and claimed that he would be a champion. That night, I went to a home Bible study, in Ruston, and I asked everyone there to pray for Goose. We all joined hands and prayed for Goose. That night when I got home, I requested that Christians on Facebook would pray for Goose. I went on web site, http://thirddaychurch.ning.com, and told the Goose story and asked for prayer. I had a bunch of folks email me that they had prayed for Goose. Within a week, the knots started decreasing in size. By the end of the month, he was totally healed, the jaw bone was smooth. Talk about a smart dog, I love watching Bryan work with him. He retrieves with hand signals, he is fast, he listens, he loves to work out.
When he was about seven months old, the family drove to Georgia, to buy another dog, for the kennels. My daughter agreed to feed the dogs while they were out of town. Goose got to go. Bryan was real protective of him. While they were in Georgia, they visited their dad, and he had heard of a field trial competition, not far from where he lived.. Bryan decided this would be good experience for Goose, so they entered him in the field trials. (Just for the experience.) Bryan had worked him on land a lot, and he knew he would do good on land. However, he had very little experience on the water. On the land part of the competition, Goose earned every point, that he was eligible for, and qualified for the water portion of competition. The water trials were about half mile away from land, and Bryan got there just minutes before sign-in time deadline. The referee told my son, sorry, your dog did not qualify. Bryan knew he had qualified, so he jumped in the truck and went back to the judges. They had put Goose’s score sheet in the wrong box by accident. They took off with just few minutes left to register. He barely got him registered with only seconds left, but he made it.
Meanwhile, back home, everyone was praying for Goose to have favor and win. All my prayer warriors, who had prayed for Goose’s healing, were “interceding” about a hunting dog’s field trial, praying in one accord. Goose won every point he could win in the water too. That pup shined. I don’t understand all that he has to go to complete his road to being a champion, but he is well on his way. By the way, Goose fathered his first litter of 12 beautiful healthy puppies. (Ten black labs, and 2 Gold, “Marley ” puppies.. .} They all sold fast. One of the puppies sold to a little 12 year old friend of mine. (The little boy is a preacher at age 12) I showed the puppy for Bryan while he was at work . The Boy couldn’t decide between two of the puppies. He said, Sister Gerhardt, I just need to pray about which one will be the best dog, until tomorrow. Can I wait and pick it up tomorrow? The next day, he came and got the one, that he said, God gave him peace about. I spoke with his Grand mother, recently, and the dog and the grandson are learning real fast. Paw Paw plans to take his grandson, and his grand dog hunting next duck season.
I still get calls, or notes on Facebook, or Third day, from my friends from time to time, saying, “How is Goose doing?” I say, “Healed by the stripes of Jesus, with the hand of God upon him, giving him favor and making a champion out of him.” Goose got pretty popular around my intercessor/prayer warrior friends..
GAINCHIE SUE When Jerry and I were engaged, Jerry said to me, “When we get married, we don’t need any pets. We are in ministry and pets would be just an inconvenience, traveling. (I didn’t say a word).” Our first mothers’ day, my daughter got a rescue puppy at the dog pound, and I had the “I want a puppy itch,” I drove out to the pound and found a three month old chocolate lab that just knew she belonged to me. I called Jerry, and said, “Tomorrow is mother’s day, and all I want is a puppy.” Jerry replied, “Now Baby, we discussed this before we got married, that we were not going to have a dog.” I said, “You discussed it, I didn’t say anything.” Jerry gave in, “If you think you have to have a dog go ahead and get it. It has to be an outside dog.”
very girl dog my daddy ever had, he named “Gainch.” I don’t have a clue what it means or where the name originated, but we had “Gainchie Sue.” She was covered with fleas and ticks,so I stopped and got her bathed before she met “Daddy.” She still smelled bad, and had bad fleas. We had a fenced in back yard, for her, and all was well. We cleaned her up, got her shots, and that night, she dug out of the back yard, in the middle of a thunder storm. “Daddy,” got soaked bringing her home. She could have dug a ditch to China, through flower beds and all. It didn’t take long to find out why a three month Chocolate lab, ended up in the pound. One day I came home from work, and found Gainchie Sue, inside, asleep with her head on “Daddy’s” foot. We both loved her.
One day, she dug out, and we couldn’t find her. We put pictures up everywhere, and in every vet’s office. We asked everyone, and we could not find her. There were woods behind our house that went about five miles back to the lake. After two weeks, I had cried, and just about given up. That day, I said, “Lord, you know where she is. Help her find her way home. I walked to the backyard gate and called for her one more time, as I had done for two weeks. Off in the distance, I heard her hound dog bark, “OUNT, Ount, Ount, “ not “bark bark.” She came running to the gate. She was covered in ticks, cold, and shaking. She decided that maybe she should be a home dog after that. God showed her the way home.
ANNABELLA our white long-haired Chihuahua. I grew up with chihuahuas today, I had along-haired when I was a kid.. . I started wanting an inside lap dog. Jerry agreed. I went on the internet and found four or five, really cute ones. I prayed over each one, and my ” baby never leaped,” (analogy I never got a witness.) Someone told me about one that someone had bought to breed and decided she was too small. When I found that little white one, it was love at first sight. I had prayed for the dog that would fit with our life style. She does. She loves to travel. She does all kind of tricks, including “winks”. We take her to a Christian School and she performs for Chapel. If a dog could be a Christian, she would be one. She loves to sit in my lap. When I hold her and read the Bible, she lays her head on the Bible. If I leave my Bible on the Bed, she will lay her head on it to take her nap. We prayed while we searched for the right one. I believe that God helped us find her. She is the dog to outshine all dogs of all generations. They should have used her to star in the “Beverly Hills Chihuahua Movie” She would have won an academy award for her performance. She brings us a lot of joy. When we travel, we make hotel reservations beginning with , “Are you pet friendly?”

AnnaBella Likes the Bible

AnnaBella says to Bailee Parrot, "No free rides."
The Bible says that God sees the sparrow when it falls. He made all the animals, and I believe He is mindful of our pets. I hope you enjoyed our pet Blog. By the way, we have two Quaker Parrots. Bailee sings 7 Christian songs, and says, “Bailee’s not a parrot, Bailee’s a cute little Green Chicken, Bak Bak Bak. Nikka, says in a real shrill voice, “You are supposed to whisper.” She is belonged to a lady, who went to Africa as a missionary. We have taken the birds to chapel too. Both birds were given to us.
Thanks for visiting with 5minuteministries.net. We are working on “the Computer lap top fixed,” Bailee Parrot” rearranged” the keys for me. Jerry is getting it fixed so I don’t have to sit up all night to do the blogs. (After he finished his 12-14 hour day on our big PC). I will do that, if necessary, I love doing this that much. If I make a difference in one life, it is worth it all. Tomorrow, I will try and get caught up…Be blessed and highly favored of the Lord,
His Love and Mine,
Charlotte Gerhardt
